Soybean Seasonals

31 10 2007

Combined with current fundamental analysis of soybean crops and growth in demand, seasonal price trend probabilities can help establish better technical entry and exit points when planning a trade in soybean futures.

Seasonal Trends in Soybean Oil Prices are close to, but not identical to soybeans.  This often provides a very probable seasonal spread trade between soybean oil and soybeans, in addition to trading opportunities on the direct price movements.

I’ve got a feeling about the future of Corn Prices!

Weekly Corn Prices Aug 11/07

These weekly corn price charts show the classic retracement to the 50% level.

Given that Wheat prices are showing a powerful bull trend – the support and resistance areas in the Corn prices look like a potential for explosive changes as the market moves to correct itself.

Trading Seasonal Historic Trends

9 08 2007

Speculative Investors who trade in commodities futures contracts are very aware of the seasonal nature of many markets.

Agricultural Commodities such as Corn, Wheat, Oats and Soybeans etc., are very strongly seasonal – because of the specific growing period where the crop is produced.

Other commodities like gold and silver, and some contracts like Lumber can also demonstrate very predictable price changes at the same time of the year.
